‘Mr Stylecraft’ bids farewell

After over 40 years in hand knitting sales management, spent working with some of the best known organisations in the industry, John Frankish announces his retirement from Stylecraft. John’s involvement in hand knitting dates back to the mid 1960’s when he joined Hayfield, where he stayed for 20 years, rising to the position of Sales Manager. A three-year stint with Greenwood developing the Chevy and ‘own label’ business preceded his move to Stylecraft.

Since becoming a founding member of the Keighley, West Yorkshire based supplier of yarns and designs for hand knitting in 1989, John has become synonymous with the brand and is affectionately known as ‘Mr. Stylecraft’. John is looking forward to retirement but looks back on his years in hand knitting with great affection, observing that he has enjoyed every minute of his time in the industry’ which has given him huge satisfaction. He adds, ‘I am especially delighted to be handing over to a successor who has the experience and vision needed to move the brand forward. I wish him every success’.

Moving in to the Stylecraft ‘hot seat’ is John Crank, who has been appointed to the position of Sales and Marketing Director. Like the John before him, John has many years experience in the hand knitting industry, spent with the Argyll, Hayfield and Sirdar brands. His experience spans both administration, sales and export management.

John comments ‘I am excited by the challenge before us at Stylecraft as we enter a new era. We have an enthusiastic customer service team at our head office in the shape of Jill Penny-Larter, Kay Holmes, Lisa Ickringill and Samantha (Sam) Jackson, together with an experienced sales force, all dedicated to providing the optimum standard of service. I would like to pay tribute to the outstanding contribution which John has made to Stylecraft over the years, and am conscious of the fact that he will be a hard act to follow.
